Get the right advice from Millésime Fine Wines, a Melbourne-based, specialist wine merchant. Just released! Andrew Marks, aka The Wanderer of Gembrook in the Yarra valley, is one of the most progressive new winemakers we've met recently. His 2008 Upper Yarra Pinot Noir received 97/100 points from the Australian Financial Review and of course it sold out quickly.
When we spoke with Andrew in May, he was exactly where you'd expect to find a globetrotting winemaker - in Spain, on a vineyard, on a project he’s been working on for five years.
The inaugural vintage of ‘El Wanderer’ Carinyena 2008 from the Catalunya region in Spain has now arrived. Carinyena, also know as Carignan in France, produces medium bodied, fragrant wines and was historically used as a component in neighbouring Rioja’s red wine blend.
